BURNAUGH — A woman was killed in an accident on U.S. 23 Tuesday morning, according to the Boyd County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was pulling out of the BP onto U.S. 23 when she was hit by an oncoming car around 10:30 a.m. in Burnaugh, deputies said. Both cars involved in the crash were white Chevy Cavaliers.

The driver hit the brakes about 20 feet before impact, but still collided with the car, hitting the front passenger side door, deputies said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car suffered only minor injuries.
